| Hula
- very talented individuals who were ahead of their time.
Individualistic, emotive, exciting, experimental and very danceable. Our
history together spanned their most creative and productive period.
However it must be said that at times they did get a little self
indulgent! Their songs are at full of emotions pertinent to us all;
there is real angst in some of them. Their live performances were
experimental, multi-faceted and very exciting. Their use of multi-media
innovation coupled with their mesmerising and evocative rhythms
extranced the audience with an eerie eagerness.
Sadly all good things
sometimes come to pass. I remember parting company and talking it
through with Ron Wright. I know he didn't believe me when I said that
they deserved better. I was being very honest with them. They needed
more studio space, more studio equipment and I couldn't give it to them.
They needed more time for the rest of the world to catch up with them,
they needed greater personal commitment and I honestly could not give
it. I also knew I wasn't believed though I really believed in Hula -
they were very talented and very genuine people.
